The AYL would like to wish you all avery happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
We know it's hard to wrap your mind around, especially with the mounds of snow everywhere, but the spring lax season is rapidly approaching! Our registration starts tomorrow and runs through 2/1/2013! After that date, a late registration fee will be incurred. Please note that our program (and the sport of lacrosse overall) is growing--HOORAY!!! We're stoked to have more and more boys and girls on the field! That said, try to register your kids early! We want to have the best idea possible about numbers enrolled so that we can build/staff our teams accordingly. Additionally, upon registration, if you would
please let us know in one of the open fields regarding conflicts with practice, if lax will be your child's main priority for the spring (i.e. that child would come to the the lax game over the baseball game or the flute lesson; we ask only to ensure even team building and player development!).
As many of you know, our program offers kids in kindergarten through grade eight the opportunity to experience lacrosse! We will follow up with another email in the VERY near future about exact time commitments, but here is how it generally breaks down:
Developmental (K-2, Boys and Girls [projected practice days are for boys only at this time--we will update shortly]): Friday afternoons, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Bantam (Grades 3-4, Boys and Girls): Three days/week commitment; two practice days, one extra game day possible. Additional lax jams/tournaments during the season.
Junior (Grades 5-6, Boys and Girls): Four day/week commitment minimum. In the junior boys division there are A and B teams. The A team generally has one more practice than the B team. Both teams, and also divisions, play at least one game a week once the season is in full swing, and there are additional jams/tournaments/play-offs.
Senior (Grades 7-8, Boys and Girls):
Four day/week commitment minimum. In the senior boys division there are A and B team. The A team generally has one more practice than the B team. Both teams, and also divisions, play at least one game a week once the season is in full swing, and there are additional jams/tournaments/play-offs.
If you are new to our sport, WELCOME! Please feel free to ask questions! We look forward to seeing you all soon!
