Avon Youth Lacrosse Mission Statement
*Our goal at every level is to promote the exciting sport of lacrosse and to develop fundamental lacrosse skills and honor the game.
*We strive to promote the life skills of upstanding individuals, and to enjoy the game, the competition, and good friends. Coaches are asked to balance a competitive attitude and an overall atmosphere of fun and team spirit.
*Our wish is to emphasize the true nature of sports; sports are about challenging yourself, going beyond your perceived limits, being a team player, and forging strong relationships with teammates.
General Information
The Spring Season usually begins April 1 and runs through the 3rd week of June (playoffs). Weather and field conditions determine the official start date, which may be prior to April 1.
Time Commitment

Developmental Program: 1 or 2 days per week

Bantam Program: 2 days per week

Junior Program: 2-3 days per week

Senior Program: 3+ days per week
Games
Games are usually scheduled for practice nights to keep commitments consistent from week to week. As a league, we also participate in 2-3 jamborees each season, held on weekends. The jamboree schedule is finalized in early April.
Fields
Our home games and practices are held at Alsop Meadows, Buckingham, Avon High School, Thompson Brook and Avon Old Farms.
Inclement Weather
Each team has an email/phone call system in place to notify players and parents of cancellations. In addition, you can register with the Town of Avon for automatic email notifications on field closures, or call the cancellation hotline at 409-4365.
